Trying out Selaco tonight. Check it out.
By the looks of it it's more fun than DE ever will be.
Also some of these negatives reviews (i only see them in the spanish reviews), of people saying, "why are you looking negative reviews? Buy the game before the sale ends"
Many of these people just complain about Eternal's ideas simply for existing without elaborating on why they are bad in the first place.
Most of these people start from the idea that Eternal should be like 2016 because it's the sequel, ignoring that from the very first second, eternal intends to be its own thing with a different approach.
Most people will always expect the same thing because they don't want to feel uncomfortable; they don't want to leave their comfort zone.
Proof of this are franchises like pokemon and soul games, which tend to always be the same because thats precisely what their (((((((((fans)))))))))) want.
And this is exactly the reason:
To illustrate this further, consider a few things:
Well, well over half of the reviews for 2016 currently on Steam were made after Eternal released. Prior to that, conversations like the one we're having now about Eternal were exactly the same discussions being had about 2016 being a departure from the Doom formula then. (If you don't believe me, go digging in their forums for topics like this).
They are made even more insane now that 2016 is being placed within the "Doom" template - which for these same sort of entitled, loud users was clearly not where it belonged before.
Feel free to do the math. To start - 10k of the reviews for 2016 were created in March and April 2020 - the opening 60 days of Doom Eternal's release.
Ultrakill is an amazing game and I'm glad fans have let it be it's own thing and weighed it on it's own merits. It's fair consideration that Eternal never got, and the fact it's only 6% behind it is pretty damn incredible.
de also disconnects anyone that liked 2016 as it continues 10 years later leaving 2016 players high and dry.
the trailers were awesome for DE... but now you played all the good bits already... the product delivers this badly.
what remains is filler mostly.. sadly.

Precisely, but if you went to get a kick in the nards you'd rate it based on how well your nards were kicked and if you went to get a Windows phone you'd rate it on how many weeks passed before it became obsolete
