DOOM is DOOM no matter if it's eternal or the classics, celebrate it as a whole.
...DOOM:Eternal has to stand around out back, by the dumpster, and root through the trash.
I understand that it's difficult for you but please try not to derail another thread, were here to celebrate DOOM.
Be better & don't ruin it for everyone else.
but this is ultimately a place to discuss DOOM:Eternal, too.
Sadly, DOOM's 30th Anniversary didn't bring the QoL and multiplayer fixes to that game which fans were hoping for. Steam did add several DOOMGuy avatars, though -- maybe to give certain someone's something to spend their points on, other than clown awards?
While it was DOOM's 30th anniversary -- and celebrations were enjoyed -- D:E isn't DOOM. In 30 years time, it will barely be a footnote -- hopefully not any more infamously-recalled than it already is.
This game's very short shelf life was only embroiled in multiple scandals over both Mick Gordon's treatment and the illegal implementation of Denuvo AC. It also offered a drastically new "combat loop" and jump-focused gameplay that didn't bring in half of the audience participation of its much-celebrated predecessors...
I am entitled to my opinion on D:E's poor quality -- and the uncomfortable details of its own history are concrete, as well.
Those ugly details deserve to be mentioned on the day fans are celebrating the pedigree of DOOM, too.
D:E didn't meet the expectations of DOOM, on multiple accounts.
That is this game's life story, and its anniversary is on March 20th.
youre aboslutely entitled to your opinions on the game. just make sure to follow the guidelines and stay on topic on threads. again, this thread is not for criticizing D:E. it is for celebrating DOOM.
also you can find the person who's giving everyone here clown awards in the comments on Legion's profile. when he's no longer community banned that is.
A lot of DOOM/idSoftware's longtime fandom felt a swift kick in the gut during that first quarter of this game's release -- and the compounded scandals that went along with it.
