In Windows 10/11 go into "Graphics Settings", then under "Graphics Performance Settings" browse for the DOOM Eternal executable ("DOOMEternalx64vk.exe"), and in "Options" choose "High Performance".
Alternatively for Nvidia, in the Nvidia Control Panel, set the "Preferred Graphics Processor" option in "Manage 3D Settings" to the High Performance one, either globally (which might not be preferred especially on Laptops), or only for the DOOM Eternal executable.
Then in the game verify that the high performance GPU is actually being used by enabling full performance metrics ("Settings > Video > Video > Performance Metrics"), they will show you the name of the GPU that is being used.
If you have resolution issues, try a different Window Mode and/or changing them back and forth ("Settings > Video > Display > Window Mode"). You can also try to run the game in safe mode to reset settings, make the changes as you desire, then restart in normal mode. https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2542-790F-14F8-D66A#safe Alternatively to "-safe" you can also try "+com_safemode 1" (without quotes).
