Help with mods! especially the reshade

so i just got done playing 2016 which the carmack reshade is the only mod i was able to get working for it and it did look amazing, much more photorealistic. now this game desperately needs it and the ONLY thing i downloaded of nexusgamemods is the reshade, extracted everything in that folded, ran the application and it said it was unable to do whatever it needed. anyone able to help?
