This Game is a Frustrating Mess

There, I said it.
For all it's flashy visuals this game is a pretty poor addition to the franchise.
It's a shame really as there really is potential but I just can't shake the feeling that this is just a toe tapping demon dance-off with a little gun play thrown in for good measure.

I tried listening to this review during playing DE and almost died in the Blood Swamp spirit baron fight, had to use BFG twice, while I usually avoid it. So thanks for nothing, I guess.

Anyway, it's a mix of sensible stuff (Fortress of Doom kinda sucks) and outright falsehoods. Like, "there's only one way to kill each enemy" is an obvious lie. Well, obvious to anyone actually decent at DE, which the reviewer, judging from his footage, clearly is not.

He lost all credibility after he spent five whole minutes complaining about a singular swinging pole in the Quakecon 2018 reveal.

i played this game since day one, one of my favorite games ever. coming back to it, the demons feel so much more aggressive than i remember. and the game is still pretty darn buggy. ive heard that higher fps = more aggressive demons. im pretty sure the obvious answer is that im just having a hard time adjusting after playing other games for a year, still its weird.

You can't keep posting the same thread over and over again. We've already been through the motions on this- your previous, nearly identical threads being deemed fit for moderation.

At least add something else for us to chew on. This is nothing but an obvious ToS violation of frivolous/redundant posting at this point.

The same must apply to (un)Critical Baldur, since everytime a random guy opens a "DOOM Eternal sucks bkoz I can't get past Exhultia!!!1!11!1!!!!" thread, he keeps writing the same bs over and over.

I had the same initial reaction, after playing the first doom game I decided to give this one a try. I actually quit the game after the first few missions just because of how much faster paced this game was than the original already fast paced game. Really the necessity to constantly be switching weapons, chainsawing enemies, and using the flamer throughout battle was just too much.

But I gave the game another shot a few months later and actually warmed up to it, Now I actually really like it, it's extremely fast paced but once you learn how to use all your gear while on the fly I think it's really quite good

That YouTuber has been debunked several times since Doom Eternal forum became just a list of useless/pointless rants about the game.
