Aim down sights??

I recently gifted my partner the steam deck for the holidays, and they astatic to play 2020’s DOOM, only to find they can’t aim down the sights.
I tried looking it up before posting on here, and all I can find are people complaining about all FPS on the steam deck not allowing you to aims down the sights.

Is there a way??
Would an Xbox controller work??

doom eternal and 2016 DOOM does not allow you to aim down sights unless you are using the assault rifle with the upgrade

Does the deck itself allow you to look down the sites when you have the gun and mod? Or do you need an outside controller?

Aim down the sights is only a thing with the precision bolt sniper rifle mod for Heavy Cannon

There is no aim down with sights in doom.

It's the mod button. Since the game is playable on steam deck of course you can do it with the buttons it has. I don't know however how someone would want to play a game like this on a handheld console. There are better suited games for it.

why "aim down the sight" when every shot is pixel perfect precise as is
the whole 'hold this button to aim better' is needlessly redundant
