DOOM ETERNAL Download and Install Issues

Has Anyone here have had countless issues with Downloading the game after its been purchased.

I have fully downloaded the game and the app manifest and it is on my HDD.
After a few updates and whatever reason, steam is not seeing the game on my drive and the app manifest clearly is in the steam folder as well as the game in full.

Steam is trying to re-download for the 3rd time and steam is not recognizing the game is already in my steamapp folder.... i dont think i want to spend more hours and 90 gigs of bandwidth just for it.

Any suggestions?

something is wrong with either your steam installation or your storage device

Don't put the game in the steam folder. ie. (C:/Doom Eternal). I've had to do this with other games in the past.

what would be a good place? Anywhere?

Depends on how many drives you have and space on each one. C being your main but your OS is there. I would use D or E. I try to only use 1/3 of drive space leaving the rest for file swaps. but thats old school teachings. Just make a new folder call it Doom Eternal then install game to that folder.

(UPDATE) so it was an issue with the game itself, there was a restart in midway when i had some updates. That caused the Files in the download folder to stay there so i had the same game in 2 locations. 1. was steam library folder and 2. the download and cache folders for steam. Ill use Thumpers way and hopefully that allows me to make a custom Collection folder for ALL of the doom games.

I deleted all the download, and cache files specifically for Doom eternal, delete the app manifests and recopied the one i backed up.

I went ahead and pretty much deleted everything and restarted from scratch so hopfefully i dont have this bizarre issue again.

This has been the only game i can think of that i ran into this problem. All of my other games that i have backed up have worked once i added the app manifest and the game files to the drive i want them in. annoying to say the least
