Micro missiles vs chaingun

Have done a bit of searching and haven't really found anything clear on this. Assuming you're using micro missiles only when it's optimal (master unlocked and using with the boosted damage), is this more damage than the mobile turret (I think that's what it's called - the extra firepower mod for the chaingun) mod from the chaingun? In other words, is there ever really a reason why you would want to use micro missiles over the chaingun late-game if you're just focused on killing/clearing things?

I think the mobile turret has the most damage output per second and the micro missiles do the most damage per bullet (only for the heavy cannon and chaingun)
