How to get rid of orange icon in middle of screen?

I think it is the gas icon, is it possible to get rid of?

You mean the racecar hud. It's under UI settings and I think it's called reticle ability indicator.

They introduced that with tag2, so people have all the info in the middle of the screen instead of having to look below. It will show blood punch and grenades too as soon as you get them. I couldn't get used to it either, it's barely noticable but still in the way somehow.
