I wonder how the demons decided on the name Doom Slayer. Is it like some kind of demon meme. Some imp called him Doom Slayer then all the other demons started calling him that and the name just stuck? "Ok Doomer"

Because they had to add the title 'doom' in there somewhere and 'doomguy' just doesnt feel right as a name for him.

Doomguy was a classic, iconic badass with no nonsense.
Just 100% man fueled demon killing rage

Slayers firstly sounds dumb as all hell, secondly hes literally another lame master chick in a power suit generic nobody now

People love doomguy because theres no story behind those games, just pure gameplay, and this is because they dont need to exhaust their tiny brains with a story.
