No audio out of center channel via HDMI to Receiver
Anyone else run into this? Rears work fine and when I move around all the sounds are where they should be, but there is no audio out of the center channel. Center works fine on other games.

Same problem here.

Probably an erroneous question, since you've been working at the issue for so long -- but Is your desktop audio bitrate set to 48kHz or below?

I've tried several options including changing the frequency with no success. No other games have any issue.

For my specific setup I have to use DTS Connect or Dolby Digital Live, but I've also tried standard PCM on a different setup and it still does the same thing. Even analog out won't push audio to center.

You've definitely done your due diligence in troubleshooting.
This is a 5.1 or 7.1 setup?

It's 5.1. But also set to 7.1 as a test and same thing. I even contacted Bethesda directly with no solution.

I mean I can run emulated surround and the center will work of course, but that's not a good solution and doesn't sound nearly as good as native surround.

The first time I fired up Eternal, my PC was using a 192,000 Hz setting. No center channel.

I tried 48 Khz. Same thing.

Are you both using Nvidia cards for HDMI-out sound?

Nope. Standard audio drivers for my motherboard (Realtek). 3.5mm jacks for my 5.1 surround sound system.

What's strange is that this it the only game that has this bug. :golem:

Yikes.
It's pretty clear that D:E is the common denominator, then.
If OP couldn't get a result from Bethesda support (outside lackluster emulation), idSoftware may never care enough to fix the issue.

DOOM3 very recently had a patch which overhauled the available video Hz rating & removed DRM, though -- so some years down the road this could be retroactively remedied in the same way.

I'm launching the game now with all speaker outputs deactivated except for the Realtek-powered ones. I'll see if this works...

The only thing I can possibly suggest is to try changing D:E's in-game sound output settings, and restarting the game with each one/multiple times to test if that has any effect.

In the past, folks have reported strange errors and issues due to a disparagement there (like headphones being selected on a speaker system, or other).

Hmm will try that. Worth a shot. Thanks!
