Hardest game ever ?
I played lot of games in my life and this one of the hardest I ever played.

Just started the game in Nightmare, yesterday, and finished the Doom Hunter Base, I rarelly played something that difficult in my entire life.

Did not except that.

Is the Nightmare difficulty really that hard or I'm simply bad ?

You're simply inexperienced. You have to utilise all the mechanics the game introduces to you on Nightmare difficulty.

I would recommend you change the difficulty to Hurt Me Plenty, and then if you feel like you're managing it, you can raise it to Ultra Violence. Nightmare is meant to be more for mastery of the game.

The game will get easier. The cultist base is the most difficult level when playing for the first time. Not that Nightmare will ever really get easy, as you always need to be 100% focused on the game, but it'll never be that difficult again.

I'd say Nightmare does get easy enough after a while, that does include a lot of hours though.

Nah, Doom eternal is easy since game gives you tons of OP weapons and upgrades. You just need to use them correctly

Blood and Plutonia Experiment Doom are the hardest games i have ever played

Eh, I suppose that depends, but Plutonia on Ultra-Violence is definitely easier than Eternal on Nightmare. Plutonia on Nightmare might be more difficult because of the respawning monsters, but I haven't tried.

It's hard at first, but once you know what you are doing, it's a lot easier. But I think Matt is right: dial down the difficulty a bit and learn the mechanics. There is a lot of stuff you have to do in quick order or even at the same time, it may be better to internalize that without too much pressure.

Important: if you are an mkb player, please make yourself custom keybindings that allow oyu to switch to guns fast. Get rid of the weapon wheel, that's for controllers.

^yes, there's no shame turning down the difficulty on your first playthrough. Eternal has rules you must learn - once you understand them you become much more powerful and can take on bigger threats.

Also, as Hund said, set your keybinds. This is critical.

Thanks for your help, I'll try to turn down the difficulty. Game was playable but was freaking hard for me. (Did not die at Doom Hunter Base du to extra lives but I died few times at the cultist base.)

Here are some nuyen for your help, mister Armitage.
KIM you are playing on the hardest difficulty level in the sense that enemies deal maximum damage on nightmare difficulty. You aren't just playing 4 out of 6 difficulty. It's more complex then that because the only difference on the one above nightmare called ultra nightmare is if you die your campaign is over. The last one called extra life mode gives limited respawns and you select a difficulty with it.

You have hardly any time in the game and are trying out the difficulty where the enemies deal maximum damage. it's for expert players not for people on first playthrough.
Hands down the hardest game Id have ever made themselves. Id games are usually kind of easy even on Hard.

-Play new game
-Choose (almost) the hardest difficulty
-Be surprised that it's hard

Blood isn't hard, it's just unbalanced because of aggressive hitscaners mixed with old-school run 'n' gun , so game can't decide if it wanna be Call of duty or retro shooter

The game itself isn't that hard, hitscaners are just problem because they force you to cover, but anyway you can kill them with sawed off shotgun
