Streaming to discord?
I remember trying this out a while back only to be met with severe fps drops when I started streaming on discord. I hear this is because of a conflict between discord and vulkan but when I asked this on the Vulkan reddit the one person that replied said that they can stream it on discord just fine and mentioned that it's likely a performance issue. Do I need to change anything in doom eternal's settings? Before typing this up I saw a guide that said all I need to do is switch to borderless fullscreen. To those that have done this, does it work? I've yet to reinstall the game to try for myself so i'm asking in advance.

It is definitely a conflict thing but not necessarily with Vulkan itself. For Doom Eternal specifically you need to use borderless windowed mode as well as disable "Present from compute" option in order for streaming to work properly.

My statement is based on the experience of three different people including myself where without these settings game just hard freezes shortly after starting discord streaming. This is also been true for other id Tech engine Vulkan based games like Wolfenstein series since The New Colossus. Should've also mentioned that all of them have Nvidia GPU. So while it might work for you I'm just stating the common problem me and my friends encountered and the solution that worked.

As a side note it would be really nice to see more developers doing the same thing MachineGames did for Wolfenstein: Youngblood by implementing a dedicated setting called "Streaming compatibility mode" which eliminates all of the guesswork.

Present from compute should be disabled. It is in the same section where all of the generic stuff is located such as resolution, aspect ratio, v-sync and the likes.

I have no clue really.

I have full-screen and post compute ON, I stream on 30 fps. play on ultra vid settings, ray-tracing, no fps reduce or anything, all i hear is the sound when someone joins the stream. no issue what so ever. :)

Maybe the rig your using?

Discord have a setting for using hardware acceleration maybe disable?

I'll check that once it's done reinstalling. Whenever I don't stream I have a stable 120+ fps but when I stream it goes down to like 10.
