Black screen, going crazy
Hey all so I played doom eternal awhile ago on game pass fine but I recently bought it and for some reason I am getting a weird thing I get a small stutter then it goes like my monitor loses signal followed by black screen. I can hear the audio and alt + tab out but the game just won't come back. I tried deleting the config files which I only found one. reinstalled drivers not sure whats up. 3060 ti + i7-10700k + 32gb ram playing in 1440p UW

Did that too, seems the issue is out there but I haven't seen a surefire fix. I also disabled all overlays.

i got the same issue as you, just put your monitor on 1080P, launch the game, change the resolution to 1080, close it, then go back to 1440p.
it worked for me

that unfortunately did not help. I also just clean wiped my drivers and reinstalled them so I am not sure what is happening.

I've been having this issue too. I haven't been able to progress at all through the game and its frustrating. Any updates?

I ended up lowering the resolution and it seemed to kind of work? It certainly reduced the frequency of the crash, but it occurred again when I increased it from the lowest setting to the 2nd highest. Not an ideal solution. Such a shame.

Yeah I dunno I can switch to other similarly intensive games and crank it to max without issue. It's odd since I played before at release without issues.

Try turning off full screen optimisation.

I just did a windows fresh install I was having issues with other games. fortnite kept crashing so I'm trying to narrow it down to either software or hardware.

Update: no dice

Ok so after a ♥♥♥♥ load of trial and error I after redoing windows again, re enabled XMP for my RAM and it crashed a few times till I was prompted by windows defender to allow doom access and boom the game works now.

Complete reinstallation, whenever I’m having PC issues it’s generally my go to in order to set the baseline for problems.

Clean boot didn't solve anything for me. Might have to do the same. Thanks for the updates.

Yeah I'm not 100% sure if it's worthwhile game ended up freezing for me today. It's a different type of crash now so I just moved on.
