3)Final Doom
4)Doom 64
5)Doom 2016
6)Doom 3
Doom 1993 is perfectly designed and in my opinion its the best fps game ever created.
Doom eternal is awesome. I love fast paced shooter games
Final Doom is hard, easy and fun. I love getting destroyed by 27 billion chaingunners
Doom 2 is eh, map design is kinda terrible but it has great enemies and weapons.
Doom 64 is eh, it feels too dark and im not a big fan of its artstyle. How the hell did people played this on nintendo consoles back in 1997
Doom 2016 is beautiful but the problem is, I played doom 2016 after playing doom eternal; so it felt so so so so so so slow, it felt boring.no dash,no meathook, no flamebelch...
For doom 3, its was not really a doom game so doom 3s style never really made me want to play it. But i respect people a lot who likes doom 3.
2. 2016
3. 1
4. 3
Haven't finished the others.
Doom Eternal
Doom 2016
Doom 2
Doom 1
This is definitely an unpopular opinion, but I think the classic Doom games are overrated. They were incredible at the time, but imo the build engine games and Quake improved on them in almost every way.
2016
Have barely played the others. Yes, I'm a man of little culture.
2016
1993
Have yet to play 2, 64, or 3. I don't really want to play 3.

6)Doom 3
If Resurrection of Evil counts then it fits between Doom 1 and 2.
1) Doom Eternal.
1: Doom 2016 (While I get the arguments that it wasn't as colorful as it should be an as Eternal is, I still really liked the grittier atmosphere of the game, and the combat was great for being the classic simplicity that it was.)
2: Eternal (Love how the speed of combat was increased, dodging is a fun addition, but I didn't care much for the platforming and the more limited ammo reserves meaning I couldn't rely so much on my favorites as I'd have to refill so much that IMO interrupted the combat pace too much by having to chainsaw all the time.)
3: Doom 2 (As groundbreaking as the og is, I feel D2 is perfection. I mean they only added a few more demons and the super shotgun but it felt like they did a whole lot more than that. Also the SSG is a classic.)
4: Doom (Loved how they left the Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind as surprises. Wish more games did that with boss like fights more today but now they seem to put them front and center instead. Doesn't leave much room for fun surprises when playing unfortunately.)
5: Final Doom (I mean, it's Plutonia.)
6: Doom 3 (I did not care for the expansion, but base game was fun for what it was. Multiplayer was fun as well. Although the Doom 3 Open Coop mod was a blast. The BFG Edition I've yet to finish, but it's nice having widescreen with it. Never did do the duck tape mod for og D3 but I imagine it'd be nice to avoid jump scares to some extent.)
Have yet to play Doom 64 still even though I got it with Eternal. I'll get around to it eventually someday though.
It's hard to say what's my favorite DOOM game because I wouldn't compare the early ones with Eternal. It's impossible to do. I love the classics, but if I began comparing the rest of the series to them, then from 3 on none of them would be DOOM both for technologic and stylish reasons (see spoiler)...
That being said, it's evident to me that DOOM 2016 and Eternal recalled a lot of things from both the classics and the so-called "DOOM 3" thing (the soul cube in Olivia Pierce's office, Super Turbo Turkey Puncher's cabinet in Advanced Resource Complex and so on), but comparisons should be made between different categories.
Best classic game? The Ultimate DOOM because it's the beginning of everything and I love the maps and their background (both in Phobos/Deimos open areas or Hell).
Most difficult classic? DOOM 2 because of its level design (the begin of gigantic levels), new monsters and mini-boss battles (Spider Mastermind everywhere or the Cyberdemon in Tricks and Traps... I won't mention Gotcha because you can skip that room), let alone the expansions.
Best modern game? Maybe DOOM Eternal for its features, like meat hook and dash that let you feel free to move everywhere.
Hardest modern game? It's hard to say which one is the hardest between 2016 and Eternal, because the combat requires different skills.
So here is my ranking:
Classics first:
1: The Ultimate DOOM;
2: DOOM 2;
Reboots:
1: DOOM Eternal;
2: DOOM 2016.
Let me be clear: double jump is a feature I've seen only on UT2004 videos from YouTube. Dash, praetor suit, etc, are all things that weren't in the classics, but I understand that ID wanted to do innovative titles or else people would have complained that these reboots were too "old". BTW, I've recently played Rage and looks like the reboots are influenced by it as well. However they made a great job and I'm enjoying the newers anyway.
I do not own DOOM 64 yet, so can't judge for now.
DOOM 3 won't be part of my "favorite" list because it isn't DOOM at all and that sucks.
1) DooM 3: it is not particularly fast-paced but nvm, it was a very intense FPS/horror experience. Although it had a state-of-art graphics back then, now models and textures have not aged very well, but dynamic light/shadows system and sound design are still very impressive as well as scripted events. I still play it time to time. For me a classic speaking about PC games, just like Half-Life 2. There is also a porting for the first Xbox, but it has a lot of limits.
2) or 3) DooM 2016: simply the best FPS of 2016 and one of the funniest of all times. In some things is still superior to Eternal.
2) or 3) DooM: Eternal: way better than DooM 2016 under a lot of aspects, but I didn't appriciate the forced platforming the put into the game basically for no reason.
DooM 2016 and Eternal look equally enjoyable to me.
4) DooM 3 - Resurrection of Evil: it is a stand alone expansion for DooM 3, but I remember it was nothing of impressive. Basically a bland and lazy "more of the same".
5) DooM 3 - Lost Mission: completely forgettable DLC included into the BFG edition.
Of the old games I would say
1) DooM: it is a pillar of PC gaming, a true "masterpiece" since it has inspired/influenced the realization of tons of other games. What else should we say?
2) DooM II: as good as DooM, except for the final boss. Maybe the worst I have ever seen in a game.
2.doom 64 was quite fun
3.Doom 2016 good
4.doom 2 good as well
5.doom 1993 its okAY
6.Doom 3 BFG edition aka BAD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME
02. DOOM 2016
03. DOOM Eternal
04. No Rest for the Living
05. The Ancient Gods 2
06. DOOM 3: BFG Version - Resurrection of Evil
07. DOOM 3: BFG Version
08. DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil
09. DOOM 3
10. The Ultimate DOOM
11. SIGIL
12. DOOM II: Hell on Earth
13. DOOM 3: BFG Lost Missions
14. DOOM 64
15. Final DOOM
16. Master Levels
Top 5 is difficult, but the rest was easy to list.
Brutal DOOM Mod is also very nice :)
I wish they would also make an expansion as bridge between D2016 and Eternal.
What is number 4? I've never heard about it
