transfering doom eternal over to steam, issues that have come up

dear community, ive transfered over doom eternal with 2 dlc to steam but ive noticed ive lost all the skins that i collected from doing the events , ig , doom slayer skins and various weapon skins, has this happened to everyone, also all saved files lost, its like im starting again from new? any help or advice?

They did some sketchy stuff with the transfers, deluxe editions downgraded to standard edition etc. And saves are supposedly not compatible or some other kind of stuff going on with the transfer.

Can confirm. I had the deluxe edition, preorder skins and content, a bunch of event content, almost every collectible from the main campaign and a nightmare difficulty savegame, and the only thing that shows up is my profile.bin.

I even tried checking to see if it was just poorly worded instruction, so I tried uploading the entire contents of my savegames folder both zipped from outside the \savegame\ folder and from inside it, and no joy either way.

Try this:
For what I've experienced, you have to follow some steps to keep your achievements, skins and progress - though I've only played as a single player but it might work for multiplayer too I suppose.
1- you have to reinstall the game in Steam on the same disc it was on Bethesda's. 1b- if you hadn't installed it on the same disc, you just have to change it with the game management>properties at the right of your game launch page, no need to reload it.
2- you have to follow every 3 steps at https://bethesda.net/en/account/transfer-library/doom ,
which includes autorize Steam sync by going on the dedicated wepage - not in the app - and at the third step you will use - in your <yourdisk>\Users\<username>\Saved Games\id Software\DOOMEternal\base\savegame - the compressed version of your buid folder there (a long string of numbers and letters, this folder's name is your BUID ). I've used not the first zipped file I had created first but rezipped the non zipped folder. You drag and drop it in the same webpage in step 3 and you will have a succes, saying wait a little bit.
Then you go to steam and sync the cloud just at the right of the play button and there only - at last! - you will be able to start again with many and maybe all your numerous achievements tadaa !!
NB: at this stage, you will have your previous Bethesda progress, reward skins and achievements, but I guess you will have the "possiblility" to do some of them again like the story ones, even though you already had achieved them, the challenge would be a bit lower, but you will have kept what you had already won which is I think the main question of your post, and so had I the same issue.
NB2: I suppose Steam app won't consider Bethesda's success as Steam succes so it will be as if you hadn't reached them for Steam but yet you will keep Bethesda's rewards thank's to this almost simple processs ;-)

so just a update, for some reason i did loose all the skins, weapon skins and progress, when transfered from bethseda launcher? i stupidly uninstalled the game before i down loaded to steam as was thinking id have it twice on my pc, so part my fault, JUST HAVE TO START AGAIN! let this be a lesson to everyone

Yes I did about the same but though you had like me unistalled the game in Bethesda's folder, you shoukd still be able to retrieve your backup. It shoud be still in your saved games folder - unistalling Doom Eternal througt Bethesda's launcher doesn't erase that file - at C:\Users\username\Saved Games\id. .Software\DOOMEternal\base\savegame , and there you can use your buid folder from Bethesda and zip it again and use it in Bethesda's webpage for transfering doom eternal backup file, and back in your game about where you were before :-)
Try it and tell us if you could use that :-)

I'd already uninstalled the Bethlauncher version when I migrated my save over, but the saves were still there because it doesn't delete them when you uninstall unless you tell it to.
