FPS drop with DLSS (RTX 2080)
The game runs perfectly at max settings (no RTX) without DLSS, but turning it on results in an FPS drop. Basically means I can't try ray tracing at a playable framerate.
Drivers are updated and everything, as well.
Not a major problem since I prefer no ray tracing but it's strange.

So I have the same issue on a 3070Ti, there's an in-game bug with both Raytracing and DLSS, I would suggest playing without them. Especially if you enable both of those at the same time. There's also a workaround at least for DLSS, where if you put everything on low and wait till fps normalizes it will run normally when you set it back to high.

what kinda framerates are you talking about? dlss has a fixed costs of about 1ms at 1440p(2ms at 2160p) on your gpu iirc

Unsure if you're aware but there is a GPU driver update today. I've just tested the game with max settings on a RTX 3070 Ti
DLSS: Quality
RTX: on
Resolution: 1440p (2k)

getting average 130 frames and a drop of 15 frames around RTX areas.
Can't understand why you would without RTX, it's amazing especially in doom eternal.

Didn't check. Usually the framerate fluctuates around 80 - 100+ FPS but with DLSS on it feels like it's below 60. Maybe 40 - 50.

Same problem on my computer
I have
CPU: Ryzen 3900x
GPU: RTX 2080
RAM: 64gb (32x2) 3600Hz DUAL
SSD samsung EVO 970 PLUS 500gb
Windows 10x64 pro
Monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440, supports 144Hz and freesync.
Together with ray tracing and DLSS, fps drops to 25-35 fps, it's just awful. Sometimes it turns out to achieve normal fps when playing when you turn on the functions gradually. But in the end I preferred to turn off DLSS and RTX, and use the DSR function for a resolution of 3620x2036, the FPS is about 116-200 fps
Except on rare occasions when a BOSS appears with a shield and hair. HERE there notably sits almost at any settings.

Can't find the link now, but for me it was caused by having Texture Pool Size on Ultra Nightmare. Lowering it to High fixed the issue for me.

It's the "Texture Pool Size". Set it to High or Lower (it has no impact on the visual quality).

for me whenever I launch the game with raytracing and DLSS on, the fps caps itself to 30..i have to turn both settings off and on again for it to work properly...this bug has been going on ever since the first patch dropped with ray tracing.
