No one talking about the giant mechs?
Whats going on here? Half the game I felt like I was gonna have a chance to hop into one of those massive Slayer Mechs, and nothing. Just one level you power various parts of them for progression.
You even have one, partially, in the Fortress! There are human ones, and Night Sentinel ones. Its time to pilot one!

I can understand why you'd expect to fight in one. However, I'm kind of glad you don't. The reason being that the game is based around mastering your skills as a Slayer, rather than mastering your skills as a mech pilot. In fact, I found it very weird that you control a Revenant during the campaign, very shortly after being introduced to ways to play and improve/upgrade your weapons and skills as the Slayer. Playing as the Revenant felt out of place and uneccessary. It was fun, but I kind of felt it was shoe-horned in.

I really don't know if you will control a mech in one of the planned DLCs. In fact, I really don't know how they will handle the DLCs, because it was my understanding they take place before the start of the regular Doom Eternal campaign. Will you play as the Slayer? If so, does that mean you won't have the dash ability (since you acquire it later in the campaign)?

I'm kind of expecting you to play as the Slayer before he became a Sentinel, such as fighting with melee weapons or guns in the Arena you had a flashback to in the campaign.

i think they will come at least for cinematics in a future dlc

I agree, I think opening cinematic where you hear battle on Earth would be super epic with giants fighting, but no, we get this cringe scene with arc employees.

Doomguy doesn't need a mech. They are just there for lore and because the lead director worked on Pacific Rim and likes throwing mechs into everything anyway.

They should make a Pacific Rim game... that would be fun :)

It would be nice as a brief one-off event in a future campaign.

No -- the mech garbage is fine as window-dressing for a war history -- but it has no place in the gameplay of DOOM.

Get outta here with that noise.
