He's the last of his kind, once the current staff at ID are gone, then other than Nintendo the industry is going to be nothing but consumer-unfriendly live services and micro transactions. 20 years ago I'd get excited about one new game that was coming out nearly every month, then that number went down to 4 or 5 a year, now we're at a point where I get excited about MAYBE one new game a year. Since 2018 I've only cared about Spider-Man, Doom Eternal, and No More Heroes 3.

You could call me a "retro gamer" but that's ONLY because they stopped making games I like.

Nintendo isn't consumer friendly either. They make some good games sure but they treat consumers like dirt under their boot.


You're kinda right on the excitement for new games but the best thing you can do these days, is tune in with the indie games scene and just buy AAAs on a hefty sale when they fix their games.

Getting wrapped up in the hype is one of the worst habits you can have in gaming these days.
