Difficulty Achievements?

I've liked both of the doom games a fair amount. And I'm not a 100% achievement kind of guy, but the lack of any difficulty achievements has always kind of bothered me and kind of diminished the experience a bit.

When I know if I ever get slightly annoyed at a section I can always just lower the difficulty with zero consequence. It's just kind of weird and makes it all feel a bit arbitrary. I COULD play on the hardest difficulty, but I could also play with 1 hand behind my back or with the monitor upside down. When there's no achievement's or in-game recognition of an accomplishment it just kind of kills the motivation to do it at all.

The fact that you can 100% the game on the lowest possible difficulty is just kind of weird.

Anyone else slightly bothered by this?

there are in-game milestones for them

devs said they don't want to include difficulty based achievements

though i guess the "play through campaign on extra life mode with 5 or more lives remaining" is a difficulty based achievement

technically you can't as there are nightmare, ultra-nightmare, extra life mode, and no-suit-upgrade milestones

the consequence is that it won't unlock the difficulty-tied milestones for em which award skins and such

Interesting, I guess I never even noticed the milestone system because I don't care about skins or icons since i never played multiplayer. I guess that is something. But why would they not want to include difficulty based achievements? Whats the point of "achievements" if they are easy to achieve?

i dunno, some games don't have difficulty based steam achievements

I have same feeling about achievements. Also I don´t like multiplayer achievements in games which aren´t supposed to be popular for MP in the future. If you see achievement list for Doom Eternal, it seems there are some 15 of them connected to multiplayer.
