Want to use the CLASSIC DOOM sound effects?

Unlock your console with the patcher or whatever, then open it and copy/paste the following:

s_soundpack_classic_doomguy_sounds 1

(To work in Ultra-NM you either have to die upon starting and use the restart option if it's a fresh save, or beat the current mission after executing the command for it to take effect. You also must remain in the campaign for it to remain in effect, which is why you must use the restart function instead of exiting to the main menu.)

Congrats, now all your weapons sound like they did in the original games. Grenades sound like rockets, heavy cannon and chaingun sound the same, and jumping is the grunt heard when you try to "use" a non-functioning door.

Isn't there a thing in the audio options for that? Or maybe you didn't buy the right version?

Anyway, if I want to hear classic Doom sounds...I will play classic Doom.

That didn't come with the standard version of the game, only the deluxe edition. But with a working console you can simply unlock them in the base version of the game as well.
