Random Freezing after 6.66 Update

Ever since this new update my game will randomly freeze and i have to kill it through task manager. Installed new drivers, validated game files, adjusted graphic settings, still have this problem. Was perfectly fine before update.

Running on a laptop with:
I7-10750H
RTX 3070
16 GB RAM
Windows 10

Any suggestions are appreciated. Or if anyone else is having the same issue.

Having almost the same issue. My game freezes whenever I die or try to load another checkpoint.
Running RTX 3060 Ti with Ryzen 5 5600x
Nvidia Driver: 496.49

same.. it was like every 30 minutes pre patch, now every 3 minutes..

I was able to fix this by lowering my GPU overclock... I haven't had any crashes since then (knock on wood) before then my game would freeze both in the menus and during actual gameplay.

If you are running windows, enable ultimate performance. This fixed the stutters for me

Didn't do anything but it stopped crashing? But WHY DID THEY PUT ONLY 8 GB VRAM TO A CARD ON 2020 + 1 AAAAAAAAHHHH

game crashes with me in random situations too. was just looking at the codex and it froze.
great game but that's just reaaaaaaally annoying

Alright. It would seem I have solved the issue on my end. I have even beaten the World Spear ML on nightmare and I have PTSD now.
All what I did was just disabling "present from compute" in the video settings. I have not noticed any performance differences/drop in FPS on my RTX 3070. Hopefully this information will help someone.

If anyone wants a temporary fix downgrade your drivers and ignore Doom Eternals warning message on boot and the freeze will be gone.

Yes, it fixes the issue for me too... No more freeze or micro stuttering with the lastest nvidia driver...

Guys, an update! There was a small update to Doom Eternal when I logged into the Bethesda launcher today. Although I can't find any notes, i wonder if this is a hot-fix to stop the crashing...
