I'm hoping some time before 2030.

Don't see a reason for another game of DOOM for this generation, they revived the franchise and ended it on a high note, and tbh i don't see how they could top eternal off, give it some years, who knows.

But again, people didn't thought doom 2016 could be topped and it did

Another Doom game wouldn't make much sense anyway. Hell was defeated, and a Doom game without hell wouldn't work.

Hopefully Quake gets the Doom treatment next

...ended it on a high note?... if you mean Tag2 nope, they ended it on a very low note.

but I agree they should put Doom aside now before ruining even more with some more Tag2 like crap in the future.

Quake single player is what they could revive.

or another completely new ip so that we would see what Hugo would do without the "burdens" of a historic id ip.

I bet it would be something very childish and colorful full of Mechs and some fantasy crap all mixed together :steammocking:

They aren't doing a prequel. Hugo talked about the next game a little, and it sounds like it's taking place after TAG 2

He basically implied that we're going to be fighting lovecraftian monsters, which sounds much more like Quake than Doom

Well, seems like Doom and Quake will share universe. I'm interested, but I'm expecting they'll find ways to make it more than just "Lovecraft Doom".

Yeah, it seems like that's the direction they're going to take, and I'm all for it. A Quake game tied to Doom that takes place after the events of TAG 2 would be really cool. It's a good way to continue the series without feeling forced
