DOOM Eternal Locked at 60fps (Only in gameplay)
Anyone got a fix?

I got a brand new 144hz monitor but i cant play at 60fps+.

Other games like CSGO, Witcher, etc, I dont have any problem but Doom Eternal seems capped at 60 while playing the game, not on cutscenes for example.

I've tried with and without Vsync. With and without Freesync. Changing From 144hz to 60hz and back again.

My specs:

2 monitors, one at 60hz other at 144hz
i5 8400
16gb ram 2666mhz
r9 390 8gb
ssd 512gb

EDIT:

Solved! For now at least...

Reinstalled the game, the drivers and deleted EVERYTHING related to bethesda launcher and Doom Eternal files.

The game ran at first @60fps, even using only the 144hz monitor, however the AMD Driver for some unknown reason did set the Radeon Chill @60fps.

I put the limiter on 144max and voilá! The game looks and feels gorgeous now. Thanks everyone for your help, looks like a file wasnt correctly downloading or veryfing so you have to do a complete reinstall of the game!!!

Rip and tear!

PD: I dont know how to set a "solution" to the post, anyways thanks to everyone involved!

delete the contents of C:\Users\%userprofile%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOMEternal

and make sure you don't have any vsync or fps caps in any third party applications or radeon options.

Damn, still locked at 60fps. Thing is, i dont get why i have 144fps on cutscenes and 60 on menues and gameplay

is your monitor set to 144khz in windows display settings, too?

Yes, I can play every other game @144hz and @144fps. Just a couple of hours ago played CSGO on 144hz @300fps

Its a Doom Eternal problem, because when I click escape and "pause" the gameplay i get 144fps, but as soon as i go back to gameplay instant lock @60fps

is it the same on both borderless and exclusive fullscreen?

do you have resolution scale off?

Res Scale off, when i turn it on it just looks all blurry, but still locked @60fps

Windowed, borderless and fullscreen same effect and if i alt tab and look at the monitor settings, it still is @144hz, i can even notice it while scrolling in windows 10

I tried every single "solution" out there and nothing worked.

Tried:
Vsync: Off, On, Adaptative, Triple Buffering
Resolution Scale: Off, Static, Dynamic @144 --> Produces a blur and nothing more
Freesync: Off, On, neither did work.
Unpluging my second monitor and controller (yes, this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game has that problem too)
Setting my FPS in AMD Driver @144 max and 120min. No changes there, the monitor is using 144hz, but the game still runs at 60fps in gameplay

Im tired, I've spent a whole month working to get this monitor and this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game has an incredible stupid bug.

Reminder, the game is LOCKED @60fps in gameplay and menues, it only goes higher when i pause the game, then I have instant 144fps and 144hz.

♥♥♥♥ this

i don't have a 144khz monitor but the game isn't locked to 60 regardless.

if i disable vsync then the game runs at 200+ fps.

Yeah i know, is some config or something inside the game. I highly doubt that my hardware is causing some problem

the only posts i'm seeing with a google search is people who capped their framerate in a third party application like rtss and forgot about it.

Yeah me too. I've literally tried everything, i dont know what else could it be, and if it is a hardware problem, why other games work correctly? Im at a loss of words

i don't think it's a hardware problem, it's probably a setting somewhere.

does radeon have something like nvidia control panel where you can either put it on default settings or toggle on/off things like vsync / triple buffering / framerate caps? i haven't had a radeon card in over a decade so it's hard for me to suggest things.

Yes it does, but everything is disabled. Vsync, Freesync. And i deleted the Doom Eternal/base folder as you said so no older config making trouble there i think

have you tried unplugging the 60hz monitor and then launching the game on a single monitor setup?

also, is it connected to hdmi or displayport? i've heard hdmi has issues with higher than 60 fps.
