Confused, does steam family share work with doom eternal?
I plan on buying the game on this account and then family sharing it to my brothers account on his stronger computer. Will this work? I keep seeing arguments that it isnt supported. Thank you

Just thought about that coming home. Would that work? I do like the idea of invasions so it would be nice to be online. I've just never had 2 accounts on the same computer i dont know how that works for installed/not installed games
Any game that you have access to on the account you are currently logged into, you can install, and/or play. Any game that is installed but you do not have access to, will show a "Purchase" button instead of "Play", and will not start until you get access to it. You can get access by library sharing (if it is supported) or by buying the game.
Any game you do not have access to and is not installed, will not show up in your library.

The disadvantage this has over Family Sharing is that if you use the same windows account to play, and you (or your brother) are used to having your credentials saved and login automatically, anytime you switch accounts, you need to re-enter the appropriate credentials, as you can only have one accounts credentials saved. And only of the account that was last logged in - switching accounts logs you out.
If you get your own Windows account on your brothers computer, you can save both Steam credentials, but Steam will close on any other Windows account currently running it.

So basically you buy the game, go to your brothers PC, switch accounts, install the game, play the game, then switch accounts again, and your brother logs back in. Next time you just switch accounts, play, switch accounts again.

I assume this is because of the Bethesda account requirement? If so then the Eternal store page really should also say no family sharing. It's misleading not to imo. Presently there's no warning.

It says it in the proprieties window and the family share excluded list in your account settings

No singleplayer game should be excluded from family share.

Well id like to preorder it and play doom 64 also. I do notice the bethesda account requirement but maybe thats just for the multiplayer? I would hope they'd let you share it and just play the campaign

Only online features like BATTLEMODE, Invasion and progression towards DOOM Eternal’s in-game Events will be unavailable without an internet connection."
