Something is very very wrong, only 40gb vs 70gb for Doom 2016

I'm guessing it's heavily compressed, and will be decompressed during the installation process and launch day?

It's most likely the mega textures. All of the textures for each of the maps were stored as a single giant texture.

Remember that Doom 2016 was smaller when it first released then it got content updates.

Doom 2016 was only that big because of Megatextures and Multiplayer. They dropped Megatextures and we don't know how MP will be integrated into the game.

I read somewhere in this forum that the current size does not count the multiplayer part, that should be roughly further 30 GBs.
