How do you chainsaw bigger demons?
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Do you need more fuel to take down big guys?

some require 2 charges, others require 3.

generally you should save chainsaw for fodder only as it's not very efficient to waste it on bigger demons.

sUPER HEAVYS cannot be chain sawed barons, archviles, doom hunters, etc.

Heavy demons of any kind require 3 pips to kill sometimes 3 fodder and a surplus of ammo is more valuable then 3 pips to take down one heavy

None require 2 if I recall. It's either 1 for fodder or 3 for everything else.

You'd think prowlers or any other heavy sub type would take just 2, but nah they are 3.

to chainsaw bigger demons you need 3 chainsaw fuel. you cant chainsaw insanely big demons like barons of hell, tyrants, archviles, doom hunters, and some others.

1 fuel pip for Fodder class demons. 3 fuel pips for Heavy class demons. Super Heavy and Bosses cannot be chainsawed.

Go check the Codex entries for demons to know which demon falls into what class.

Possessed Tentacles require 2, one for the Tentacle, one for the Summoner.
To OP: 1 for fodder
3 for heavy.

What? You can't chainsaw Spirits nor possessed enemies. Possessed tentacles also don't even appear in the DLCs unless through some weird ♥♥♥♥-ery or mods.

I only do it in the first few levels to get rid of arachnotrons or mancubi when your arsenal is not good yet.

3 pips for a Dread Knight is quite the timesaver. Also saves around 8 shells and 100 cells (Super Shotty + Ballista).

Prowlers are very expensive to take care of, regardless of method. Very annoying since they spawn in groups of 2-3 on Nightmare.

A meathook shot to their face is not expensive. A ballista shot plus glory kill isn't either.

Prowlers have the second lowest ammo cost to deal with them, only surpassed by Cacodemons which require 1 shell (mostly).

Direct ballista shot + GK - 25 cells
Meathook + SSG - 2 shells
Direct Rocket + GK - 1 rocket
Blood Punch + GK - 0 (you regain the BP by performing the GK)

Eh, meathook + point blank Super Shotgun isn't particularly noteworthy.

Forgot about these. I was solely thinking about rockets due to that one Mastery Challenge for the RL.
