Set scroll wheel to jump?

This is my first play-through, and I realized before even starting that I can't set it in-game. Is there a workaround to be able to jump with scroll wheel instead of my spacebar? It feels more natural to me.

You can type "bind mwheelup _jump" into the console (tilde key). I'm not sure why it's locked from the settings.

It's locked because by using the mouse wheel you can do some crazy jumps due to the fact that it has a lot more inputs than a key press, and combined with high FPS and jumping off slopes, you can literally fly across the map.

It was possible to bind jumping to mousewheel a year ago when base game was released, but people used it for superjumps, so they removed that option.

I wanna give you an answer... but what the ♥♥♥♥?

If you've got a Logitech mouse you can download Logitech Ghub and customize your mouse in all kinds of ways, including keybinding anything to anything. I'm sure there's a program like that for regular mice too

I used to bhop a LOT in CS, for years, so it became much more natural for me in other games to use scrollwheel and bind space to something else entirely. You should see how I play Call of Duty ;P

Wtf?? Didnt know that was a thing, might just stick to spacebar, don't wanna ruin the experience for myself. If it's patched though, 100% setting it in console.

Using a Viper Ultimate, it is an option, but that'd mess with the usability of the mouse. Good idea though!

Wrong. You can still bind it but superjump doesn't exist anymore, only on V1.0
