Playing on 'I'm too young to die' doesn't make you a 'noob'

Listen up.. I have been gaming since I was 3 years old, played doom 1/2 at release when I was 6.

Played games and FPS as long as I can remember.

I play on 'i'm too young to die' because I want to enjoy my gametime. I don't get to binge on games as much as I was able to because of work and life.. I just hate the elitist attitude that if you play on the easiest in this game, your a chump.

I'm too young to die is still difficult if you have no idea what your doing. I tried 'hurt me plenty' until the 4th level. I even tuned the game up to 'hurt me plenty' a few times but just kept dying.

Played all of Ancient gods p1 on Too young to Die. Still died plenty of times.

TLDR; Playing on easiest doesn't mean your bad.

I agree that you shouldn't feel bad for playing a lower difficulty, but you still have to acknowledge that playing on the lowest difficulty because you can't handle more difficult missions does make you objectively worse at the game compared to those who can.

There's nothing wrong with being bad at a game, it's not a commentary on your inherent traits. We're all bad at lots of games for one reason or another, it's nothing to be upset about.

I'm a 90s child I started with half life went to doom.


I have beaten this game on every difficulty all DLCs and ML I enjoy nightmare and UN I did a 100% run and that was good enough for me
But I started on ultra violence.

but just because you play on I'm to young to die doesn't make you any better or worse then me and vice versa

It doesn't matter what those so called elites think who cares play on the setting which gives u the most fun

Maybe down the road work your way up or don't ....the choice is yours

You don't have to play on nightmare in order to enjoy the game

I think most people start having a problem when certain types of individuals wanna push devs to make easy modes in games where they "don't belong". Devs should be free to make a game as easy or challenging as they want and you're free to play something else if you don't like it, not everything is nor should be for everybody. DOOM is a game that works well no matter which difficulty you choose but other types of games don't, asking for an easy mode in those is like asking for loads of ammo and powerful weapons in survival horror game for example, difficulty is part of the intended experience the game is going for. But yeah usually when a game gives you a choice play whatever difficulty you want it's cool and ♥♥♥♥ the "if you're not playing nightmare you're playing the game wrong" type of people.

some people still die on i'm too young to die. it's fine. i died a ♥♥♥♥ ton on HMP on my first playthrough now i can't even fathom the idea of dying on that difficulty. there's no need to be a ♥♥♥♥ here.

Man's crazy.
People don't want you to play on your preferred difficulty settings. They want you to go through the same difficulty they're playing on instead.
Peeps have been fixated on the ideology that their own way of playing, is the ONLY and the BEST way to play games.

I played DOOM 4 on 'I'm Too young To Die', had to downgrade from 'hurt Me Plenty' because it got too complicated for me to see what's going on.
And I played through DOOM Eternal on 'Hurt Me Plenty' originally my first time as well.
I believe that should affect nobody except for me.

I enjoyed DOOM Eternal's combat-loop & its "Fun-Zone" enough to raise my difficulty settings & master the skills necessary.
But yet folks should not be obliged to follow what I did.

I'm aware.

However the best is not always the optimal one.
It may be the best one for us who've mastered the game to play on... But not newcomers or newbies.
he may prefer that difficulty, and I agree, but not everybody does.

I mean, he literally got stuck on The Holt's Slayer Gate for like 3 hours or something, on live-stream; while playing 'nightmare'. Not everybody has the mental patience to follow such actions.


Now, for my illogical attempt at a comparison to my opinion:
Just because it's "The best", does not mean everyone would or should follow it.

It's like just because preventing the usage of plastic products may be the best for the environment... or that taking busses instead of cars may spare on the earth's health...
And yet not everyone is capable or willing to do so, and not literally everyone should do it either. It's recommended for those who are committed.



Pushing yourself beyond your capabilities to complete feats which you will not enjoy anyway, does not make it a better experience.

yeah. it's how they designed it. but the other difficulties are there for a reason. some people aren't very good at the game yet. i remember when i thought i could never beat nightmare but... i'm getting there. some people start off with easier difficulties. and they will struggle. that's not a bad thing.
