Doom Eternal Shuts Down PC After Opening
Okay I cannot be the only one with this problem. While staring up Doom I went through the usual splash screens, and after the photo sensitivity warning my PC fans stopped, both monitors went black, keyboard and mouse shut off, and my PC shut down. Everything just closed as if I powered off my PC. I tried to open Doom Eternal again and the same exact thing happened. I looked up why this is and the only answer I found was that I have a ♥♥♥♥ PC. I can confirm that I do not (RTX 2070 Super, Ryzen 9, 16 GB RAM, 144 hz Monitor) have a ♥♥♥♥ PC. Is this something to do with an update?? What is happening, before this game opened just fine but now it wont even start up, giving me Fallout 3 flash backs.

I saw this on a YouTube video on how to get it to work but don't know if it is a full blown fix.

(this was posted 3 weeks ago btw)
"Hey everyone I may have found a fix for Nvidia GPU users:
1. Make sure your monitor is set to 60hz refresh rate.
2. In the Nvidia control panel, turn on v-sync to force Doom Eternal to be 60fps no matter what.
3. Launch Doom Eternal and once youre in the menu, go to the graphical settings and turn on the in game vsync.
4. (Optional) close out of Doom Eternal and restore any changes you made and Doom Eternal should still launch with the vsync on in game."

Same problem since that Raytracing patch

A video game can not just shut down your PC, unless devs literally program it to do that. Something is wrong with your system, bad power supply, bad overclocks, something. Most of the time in cases like this it's the power supply unable to keep up with the initial voltage peek. Run FurMark and see if you also shutdown.

I got a 1k power supply. I'll check that out

I have a 3070 and you are probably right, I have 600w power supply when I at least need 650w. Unfortunately this problem occurs on Doom Eternal only tho

Which power supply do you have exactly (model)? High wattage isn't going to help you in a demanding gaming rig if the PSU components are of low quality and you have horrible voltage fluctuations.
Sounds like insufficient PSU. Better to buy new PSU.

GIGABYTE GP-P1000GM 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active Power Supply

That is what I have, though this is the only game that does this, not Warzone or BO CW or anything else hardware intensive

Eternal is more more demanding than any of those games, especially with RTX on. Your PSU looks fine on paper, so it shouldn't be doing this unless there is something wrong with it (which happens). I would try Furmark, and see if it crashes, here are easy to follow instructions: https://www.maketecheasier.com/stress-test-gpu-with-furmark/

Use at your own risk of course, don't blame me if you get another shutdown and/or something dies.

Alright well I messed around with Furmark, and didn't get any crashes...I think I need to do the whole YT fix I found because anything else isn't working

The YT fix you found just reduces the load on your GPU by forcing 60fps. It's not really a solution to your hardware problem. You could try and download Afterburner and lower your power limit to about 60%, see if that works. This will prevent the GPU from maxing out power wise.

lol I have a similar problem, but nothing doom eternal related...

Sometimes when I turn my speakers on or off (doesnt matter) my screen turns black, fans blowing @ 100% and that's it. curiously you can still hear ingame & system sounds.. Very strange.

This behaviour started after installing a new PSU a few months ago.
