Keeps saying that AMD drivers are out of date.

my AMD system drivers are 21.6.1, the very latest stable release. but every time I launch doom eternal it says that my drivers are out of date, and it tells me that I need to install new ones right that second. all this started with the ray tracing update, which my GPU doesn't even support.

Is asking you for 21.6.2 drivers, which should appear if you have the "Optional" updates enabled to appear

Optional is the beta release channel, not stable. ive never had a good time with optional

optional is not a beta release channel, beta drivers are indicated as such and available elsewhere.

Stable at least for Doom Eternal, which explicitly states on the release notes to add support for this new update

AMD can't do DLSS cause no AI, but FSR is available, IF the devs decide to implement. Dats a big 'IF'.
