Anyone else unable to turn on rtx??

I have an rtx 3060 laptop edition, and unable to turn on rtx for this game. Any ideas how to fix?

the one thing u guys all have in common seems to be the 3060. i see it just fine with my 3070 so maybe theeres a driver issue with the 3060 line

It seems that there is a problem with the 3060 mobile with of the game. Lenovo Legion 5 with a 3060 also can't enable RT. Btw it is RT, not RTX.

Just made a post about this before realizing that this one was already made. I have the same issue with a Zephyrus G14 running an RTX 3060. Also I updated my nvidia drivers before trying the game. I can run DLSS just fine, but not RT. I thought that you should never run into a situation where you could enable one without the other, since to my understanding, if you have any RTX card, you should have support for both. I'm guessing we are going to have to wait for either the next doom eternal patch, or the next nvidia driver update, depending on where the issue lies.

Just saw that this post also exists. Same issue + the GPU (yes, 3060) starts to terribly overheat even just by entering Doom Eternal's main menu. The fans are spinning like never before. All of this is accompanied by general system slowdown (4800H, 32G RAM). I've never experienced anything like this with Doom Eternal before (it basically had no impact on general system usability, and the fans remained quiet through gaming with excellent frame rates). Something is seriously wrong here.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any trouble with the desktop version of the 3060. Either way I hope they do something about this soon, because I am disappointed dad to the max right now. My dad is disappointed dad as well. When you get right down to it, my whole family is disappointed dad. I will describe to you the scene unfolding under my roof on the night of the patch as follows:

My entire family was gathered 'round the computer, shiny eyed and in a state of rapture, ready to behold the revelation that was to be: Doom Eternal, with RTX On. I fired up the game, my heart practically exploding in my chest, and raced to the graphics options. I scrolled down in search of the option we had all been waiting for, only to be struck with the with the realization that it was greyed-out. My two-year-old sister immediately burst into tears. My mother swooned to her knees and wailed, as if just discovering that a new born baby had died, and my father took on the air of a military general, just having been dealt the final blow in a loosing battle, and shed a single tear. Disappointed dad indeed. Even the cat’s whiskers drooped by a noticeable degree. I just sat there dumbfounded, feeling my dreams shatter into a million pieces, and fall though my clutching fingers like sand.

If anyone from Id or Nvidia sees this, please rectify your mistake, and spare my family the continuing anguish of having to exist, minute by minute, without the privilege of experiencing Doom Eternal with RTX On.
