I cannot start Doom Eternal
I bought it when it was on sale recently for Quakecon and it started fine then. A few days passed where I didn't play anything and I finally go to play it again and now it won't start. It goes to a black screen before the logo would appear but then it goes back to my desktop. No developers or anything. I didn't do any system updates or anything. Drivers are up to date as well as everything else that would be recommended normally. But it randomly stopped working. I don't know what else to do and frankly I'm a bit annoyed. Can anyone provide some insight?

Same issue, I get a black screen and my PC restarts. :(

My pc luckily doesn't restart. But glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue

Same issue here. black screen for a few seconds then back to desktop. once today i got into the bethesda logo animation for a split second before it quit. no error messages.

by chance are you on nvidia 471.68? im thinking about going back to 471.11

Mine is doing this for a week now. Sometimes it opens with no issues, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm not on windows and Mine started fine 3 days ago until I did game maintenance update and proton 6.3 update. Also when I can get in the front lighting on slayer and mods is gone as all front side of mobs and slayer are dark grey to black as this was not like this before.

IDK really.. there was 4 windows updates that I had originally overlooked. After doing them it worked. One was a feature update to windows. Another was an AMD driver (i have a ryzen). I don't remember the other two, i made a post about it yesterday. After installing updates it worked.

I have had Game Mode enabled since last year and it's still crashing to desktop.

In fact, yesterday I was able to start a new campaign and the crashing issues only happened after Novik talks to you at the beginning of the first level. Now, I can't even get to the main menu.
