good luck running a game with rt on at a playable framerate on 10xx cards, especially without dlss
I already installed the newest driver. That's the reason I am wondering why I can not activate RTX. Maybe @cbd is right and RTX is not available in this game (maybe only for DOOM) for the graphic card 1080 Ti?! but on the other hand, NVIDIA shows the examples of RTX in Tomb Raider and Battlefield... so I am confused and have no idea.
The game should still look impressive without ray tracing, though.

I also have the same GPU but old machine.
How does the game run? Can you run it at 4K 60fps with High+ settings?
OP's question was why raytracing was not available in DOOM Eternal, which was answered in this thread by several people. Just because earlier cards can technically try to run it doesn't mean DOOM will allow one to.
I'd add that even if OP find some workaround to make RTX work, chances are the game will perform pretty badly, or will require to lower several graphical settings which would remove the purpose of adding RTX.
