Wrong. It is standalone. But I really really advise you to play Eternal first.
https://www.neowin.net/news/doom-eternals-the-ancient-gods---part-one-standalone-expansion-launches
Thanks!
do you know if it has any of its own achievements?
i notice there is no seperate discussion group /forum for Ancient Gods
thats why i am asking these questions here
there is also no info about the achievements
for example how many achievo's?
all single player.?...any MP/CO-OP Achievos?
etc..etc..
It's not a seperate discussion, because the DLC is started from the main menu of Eternal. I guess if you don't own the main game, you get the same menu but with the main campaign greyed out. DLC uses a lot of the same assets plus battlemode is included so it makes sense to put everything in one place.
As for the achievements, they are only a few. For completing the missions, find the codices etc. There are two or three secret ones.
Ancient Gods is built into Doom Eternal. There is no separate install or boot-up, so it being advertised as standalone is just a lie. There are about 7 achievements. All of the content is exclusively singleplayer (purchasing the DLC does give you access to the base game's battlemode MP tho, however it sucks fat gorilla ♥♥♥♥♥).
It still can be played without owning the main game. If the term "standalone" is the right one is questionable, but calling it a lie is highly exaggerated.
Thanks!
