Tyrant badly needs a buff
Anyone else think the Tyrant is a joke in Eternal? I realize that he was a boss in 2016 but he is no where near as threatening anymore. You can easily run away from him and focus on the rest of the mobs. You don't have that same option with Marauders or Archvilles or even Barons - you gotta take em out asap just as soon as they spawn. His rockets are super easy to dodge and his stomp barely does any damage. I def think his attack needs a buff and over a wider area too. Maybe speed him up a little too. I honestly loved his attacks from 2016. Have him play like that but with the Eternal look.

Agree/disagree?

he's not the cyberdemon, he was just based of the 1993 cyberdemon so if your reasoning for him getting buffed is "he was a boss in 2016 so he must be strong" is wrong (but I could just have misunderstood) but anyway I don't think he should get one because it's just a big fun demon to fight and is spawned in with many other demons at once and sometimes one after the other so I don't think it was meant to be like the Marauders or Archvilles

He definitely needs a speed buff. None other, but at least make his agility on par with that of a Mancubus. Mancubi are still slow, but can walk faster than a Tyrant, can turn definitely faster and they have the ability to perform jumps on rare occasions.
Though Spirited Tyrants are quite a threat since a Spirit enhances health pool as well, and Tyrant has tons of health anyway.

The biggest change tyrants need is a decrease to their falter threshold.

You can use the chaingun on them and throw frags and they'll sit there perpetually faltered until they die. And that's just one tactic, you can also just plast them with rockets and ballista from range.

It's just annoying having to commit so much ammo to them, but they simply aren't a threat. Barons are much more dangerous in this DLC.

Mmm.. kinda, maybe just a speed or more mobility buff. Also it actually works just like the cyberdemon from 2016, but without the rock walls, since it has the laser, rocket barrage, a dash to the sides, and the flaming blade but now goes in a single line following you

Yah there's so many ways to take him down and there's not a whole lot they can do about it especially if its 1v1. I always thought the Tyrant was suppose to be the biggest non-boss threat but what? He's barely #5 (after Archville, CyberMancubus, Baron, Hunter) and that's solely due to his health? He's part demon, part terminator machine so give him a jetpack or something? Def boost his speed.

Not even listing Marauder into a top 5? For me he is second after Archvile.

he's probably one of the demons which are the easist to beat

I meant to say during an arena fight. Marauder never really gave me trouble since nearly everytime you face him it's 1v1. Once you get down the timing down, he's a pushover but yah, I'd also rank him above Tyrant. It's the Baron or Archville that can single handedly turn the tide of battle. Also Baron needs to be larger IMO.

He’s just a bullet sponge, always has been since OG Doom, and he was even weaker in that game since you could just circle stafe all of his attacks.

The only difference between the "Tyrant" and a Cyberdemon is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ name.

Doom 2016 Cyberdemon is badass incarnate, these Tyrants are, as somebody wrote once, like Towers in stragety/RPG games. They mostly just are there, dealing constant damage but not actively attacking. Doom 2016's Cyberdemon is attacking. The Marauder, the Baron and the Doom Hunter are attacking. The heavies and the fodder are attacking. Even the Archvile is attacking if you try to go near, but the Tyrant almost literally just stands in one place and attempts to deal damage while staying put.

That aside. I think removing the ability to CC him in anyway would probably be good enough. It would make it so he is still a threat while being the main focus to remove.

He just needs to be made more aggressive. The problem with the Cyberdemons in this game is that they basically don't attack. Fire missiles into the air that will never hit the player is pretty much all they do. And they also have that one direct attack they do once in a blue moon that you need to be standing completely still to even get hit by.

Double Tyrants can be a threat though, especially triple Tyrants, but that's a weak excuse, since that works with every demon, double Barons / Marauders / Hunters are a nightmare, and double Archviles is just no thanks.

This. I just want the Tyrant to DO something. Like anything. Stomp attack should do more damage, missiles hellfire should cover a greater radius, and he should actually move twice as quick, power walk or have a jet pack. He's basically a Terminator that stands in one spot. Not very threatening at all. Cyber Mancubus are more deadly up close, from a range, AND they even move quicker. Tyrant was hyped up to be the most ultimate nonboss demon yet he's not even in the top tier of demons.
