Anyone else getting random stuttering or pauses while playing?
Been working through the Ancient Gods a little bit, but usually after about 20 or so minutes of play the game decides to pause for half seconds every 10-15 seconds. I was able to run the base game fine on my rig without any issue. But for some reason this DLC seems less well optimized.

Have the same problem. It was fine until yesterday, don't know what happened.

I've been having an issue with microstuttering as well. The thing that's even stranger is that if I exit the game, steam will validate it and then after that validation the stuttering is gone. If i play something else and return to Eternal, the stuttering comes back. I've tried all of the fixes people suggested for earlier stuttering issues (turning off v-sync, playing in fullscreen, disabling steam overlay, etc.) to no avail

I posted on another topic earlier in the week, but occasionally my GPU suddenly spikes to 100% usage and begins emergency venting (ie: the fan on my card starts reving up to the point where it is vibrating my desk.) Only happens with Doom Eternal and only in the last week, But happens seemingly randomly. Most days the game runs fine. Have yet to find a constant set of events that cause this. But would like to hear other peoples experiences to see if I can maybe narrow down the problem.

Edit: my card is RTX 2080 Ti for reference.

I'm blaming whatever they did with that Shader Cache thing...

and maybe a nvidia driver update :V

So this is what fixed it for me. I went to the Nvidia control panel and changed Virtual Reality Pre-rendered frames from 1 to Auto. Someone on reddit suggested that and seemingly fixed it, we'll see if the stutter rears its ugly head again.

I don't understand why you need to do that since Eternal isn't a VR Game....

Fortunately, that worked out for you.

Yeah, I'm still getting the stutter and it's really ruining my flow.

I'm using a i7 1060 6G with 16GB of RAM

I've already set my graphics to Medium.

also did that VR Prerender thing.

I'm getting the stutters maybe the first 5 minutes and maybe it stops.

This never happened prior to the Shader Cache update.

Only time I can remember getting stutters was the area in The Holt with the fire projectiles, and at a consistent rate.

Can I just roll back to the previous version prior to the latest update?

Same here, damn thing is stuttering like crazy... impossible to play.
The game stops, then after some seconds it comes back to normal.

Me too. I'm using a Predator Helios 300 w/RTX 2060 (PH315-53-72XD). DE and the DLC usually runs great but today it's experiencing chronic stuttering. It's not fun.

EDIT: ***Turned out my problem was actually an illusion of stuttering caused by my wireless mouse dongle being plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Putting a 2.0 extension cable between the dongle and port fixed the issue.***

Yeah still getting the stutters despite rolling back to the previous GTX Driver AND updating to the Oct. 29 update.

No issues running Titanfall 2 or Genshin Impact.

Kinda thought because I had two mouse launchers (Steelseries, GHub) that caused it. I still get stutters even if I disabled the GHUB.

I'm thinking of just getting a pirated version to see if it's really NVIDIA's fault or TAG

Can I still use my current save on a crack?

CONFIRMED

I've tried a pirated version of DOOM Eternal it has none of the stutters

It's either the TAG update or the Shade Cache's the culprit.

Is ID looking into this??

How's that "improving the ID Tech engine" going for them?.

Yeah, not buying TAG now because of this.
