Main campaign loading to black screen

I started playing Doom Eternal this week. Today, I made it to the Mars Core level, acquired the BFG, then took a break and quit the game. When I loaded it back up and tried to load my game, after pressing the spacebar prompt it goes to a black screen with muffled music in the background and Doom's mouse cursor on the screen. I can move it around freely, but nothing happens no matter how long I wait.

I discovered that I can at least bring up the console, but I don't know if anything there will help me. It keeps saying "idFile_Bink::WaitForBufferToComplete stall" every 10 seconds or so.

I can alt+F4 out of the game. I can replay older levels. I just can't continue my main game. Is there anything I can do here? Maybe a console command that'll restart the level? The only thing I can think of is today's patch went live between the time I took my break and came back to it. Really annoying if I have to start the game over entirely.

Update: this time I tried loading an earlier stage, then choosing the option to return to the campaign. It did the same thing, but this time I pressed a key and suddenly the level appeared.

Of course I fixed it right after making a post about it. I'll leave the post here in case anyone else experiences this issue.

It happened to me back in doom 2016. The screen is black but it's fine, the game still loads and you just need to press space or any key.

I was looking for a post like this. Found a ♥♥♥♥ ton of threads that are describin different sorts of black screens and crashes. But this one is exactly the same issue I have. What do you exactly mean with ´´I pressed a key``?. You replayed another level by pressing mission select instead of continue campaign, right? After that level was done u chose return to the campaign. And after loading the level instead of pressing space bar u pressed some random key on your keyboard? Sry for asking so much but I really want to solve this matter and this is the first proper hint I´ve found in days.

Glad it was helpful! But yeah, when I originally posted that, I didn't remember which key I had pressed. I can only assume I had pressed the spacebar.
