Glad someone else asked as I was also curious. I read a few months back though that they were removing it in the next patch back then. Did they not? Multiple sources cite this.

Denuvo anticheat was removed MONTHS AGO. There is no anticheat, denuvo is not present. The anti-tamper is of course still present, but that has nothing to do with the kernel level anticheat everyone lost their ♥♥♥♥ over a few months ago. DAC and DAT are different things. Nearly every game and many media sources released nowadays use denuvos digital rights management system, aka denuvo anti-tamper, but that is not any risk to your PC or digital security, as I 100% guarantee its already present on your computer.

There's a bit of confusion around that. There are 2 Denuvos now. Denuvo Anti-Tamper, which is the DRM enforcer, has been in the game since Day 1 and hasn't been removed, nor was it promised that it would be removed.
Denuvo Anti-Cheat was added in Update 1. A lot of people complained, and it got removed in about 2 weeks.
I get the confusion though, Denuvo Anti-Cheat hasn't ever been used before this game, so most people don't know that there are 2 Denuvos.

It was closer to a month after iirc, but yeah, DRM is here to stay, and is for many, many games, but DAC has been removed and likely won't be added at all until ranked is released (if at all), and even then, the review bombing and vitriol the community put out surely showed them that requiring it for campaign is not going to go over well, so I imagine it will launch purely with battlemode.

Update 1 was released on May 14, and Update 1.1 on May 27, so it was almost 2 weeks. Definitely not close to a month.
