can't buy main game

i've bought the dlc and i want to buy the main game as i don't already own it but it says i cant because i "own the game". so how do i get the main game?

Yeah, what is up with that.

I want to buy DOOM Eternal, and it says I already own the game. Yet I only own the Ancient Gods part 1

mmm, try this:

Go to steam store website.

Log out of your account.

Add the main game to cart and check out.

When you start checking out it will ask you to log in. Log in.

In teory... you are now able to pay for it. It will warn you that you won't get a duplicate copy of Eternal, but if you buy you do get the main game.

Yeah with the DLC being standalone, you would imagine it would work :/

You also can't buy the deluxe edition if you've already got standard as far as I can tell.

There's just no way at all? Didn't they even add back the preorder bonuses as their own dlc?

You can, but you will have to pay the entire $90 (unless you get it on a sale). Steam allows you to remove games from your account (it's a different thing than refunding. it literally erases the game from your account), and then you're able to buy the Deluxe.

Wow that sucks. They made those timed Amazon exclusives and you can't even buy the deluxe additions separate? I hope they do something about this in the future, but a lot of things are still weird.
