Is mission select disabled in Extra Life Mode?

I'm doing an Extra Life Mode run (after doing a 100% run on Ultra-Violence) and decided about half way through Exultia I also wanted to 100% this save slot.

When I got back from Exultia I noticed the mission select panel was disabled, meaning I couldn't go back and collect everything else in Hell on Earth.

Maybe I'm completely wrong but I'm pretty sure mission select was enabled at this point in my UV run, is mission select disabled so as to prevent farming of extra lives?

Yes it’s turned off and yes to stop you from farming lives. You either get all or leave it unfinished in extra life mode.
