Ultra Nightmare - Slayer Gates Worth it???

So I just died on the second slayer gate and welll.....it sucks. I'm not mad (ok maybe a little) as I understand why I died and how to avoid it next time but is it really worth the risk. The unmaykr ain't that useful compared to the bgf imo. But the weapon points on the other hand....

Also curious to know how ultra nightmare actually works. Is there a 100% completion thing? Can you replay levels? Will you be able to even tell if you don't complete a slayer gate?

No there's nothing for 100% completion and I think you are better off without the slayer gates in UN.You'll not gonna use all the weapon mods anyways and you'll be having mastery tokens too.

Just the Unmayker, some upgrade points, and bragging rights. Nothing else.

First gate is beneficial because the upgrade points will let you max out the rocket launcher and SSG early, I’d consider it almost mandatory. As long as you can get 3 chainsaw pips for the Dread Knight in that gate, it isn’t that big of an issue

All the ones after that though aren’t worth the risk, just skip them. If you got the balls to do it though I applaud you.

Yeh I find that one ok. If I die sure it's annoying but it won't take me long to get back.

Try them on Nightmare and see if they are easy enough for you to do them on your UN run

My dumbass does worse when in ultra nightmare. I think its the panic of knowing that if i die, i die.

Honestly, even though i knew that slayer gates weren't necessary, i still did every one of them on ultra nightmare because i thought it was fun.

IMO only the first 2-3 are worth it. the rest are a little too dangerous for your first UN run

i would be happy enough to just complete UN

For the unmakr really the BFG is more useful in those crunch areas then anything

Slayer gates are super chaotic (if you played on nightmare you know) the stupid things can get you killed easily and its like WTF moments many times. Mars core has got to be the one where one prowler behind u while trying to avoid the marduerr means death in 2 hits and its like wtf u didn't even know he teleport behind you.

All the power to yeah good luck if your attempting it.

Lots of people have UN runs with all gates,,, IMO its just choice.

beat it without first, then if you feel up for it, do it for a second run. the first few gates (especially the first one) are the hardest, mixed with the hardest levels in the game, so you'll need some practice. the weapon upgrade points are really useful early game, but yea, very high risk.

the first gate is really easy TBH blood punch and heat blast over and over until it is done...2-3 hits on fodder to Glory kill stage you can line up 3-4 blood punches in a row. in around a minute you can have the heavy demons spawn the knights just stay close to em and heat blast em to falter don't let them jump towards yeah the AOE is not worth it.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Think im gonna complete the first one and then give the others a miss. Ill no doubt attempt ultra nightmare again though and complete them all
