I think you'll be fine running it. You'll have to scale down your resolution to 1080p though, with maybe a scaled-down render resolution.

You have to give the hardware specs for us to properly tell you how much of a chance you have at running the game. If the laptop is 4 years old odds are the computer might still have hardware capable of running it. If the laptop is mediocre then I'd expect this thing to be a school laptop which would mean the hardware is nowhere near even the minimum. At the very least you need a gtx 970 or GTX 1650 to run the game reliably and a 4 core processor along with 8 gb of RAM. I'll look up your laptop to see the specific specs but I get the feeling it may not be capable.

update: So i looked up your laptop and I see that it has 12 GB of RAM (likely DDR3), and the CPU is an i7 (I assume it's a 4 core machine with clock speek of maybe 2.5 or 3.0) and the GPU is a GTX 960m. Almost all your specs are fine but the GPU is going to be the problem. You need at the very least a GTX 970 non mobility. Mobility cards tend to be only half the power of their desktop counterparts.

He can just set his rendering resolution to like 50% or something with 1080p and he'll be fine.
I did the same back when I had a 1050Ti and it worked wonders for me.

The Athlon 200ge came out in late 2018, i don't know how that is old, plus, if you add a 1050 ti or a 560 you can get solid performance for a low budget pc. Some people are still on 720p or 900p.

don't be elitist, lowest you can go is 45 for a game like this and it would still run smooth enough to not lose due to low framerates
