Mick Gordon is a lying scumbag who sabotaged the soundtrack.
https://youtu.be/CvSUIg4rRhQ
1: Mick Gordon massively delayed the soundtrack, and didn't finish it.
2: Mick approved of id finishing the work.
3: MICK DID NOT GIVE ID ACCESS TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL.
4. Mick poorly mastered the in-game soundtrack, which is id's source for the other tracks.
5. Mick mislead people about the reason why the soundtrack was not mastered properly.

Overall, seems like the guy is full of himself, lazy, and thought he could lie to the public about what happened, all while making bonus because the delay changed his bonus deadline as well. The bastard took his money and ran, never finished his work, and sabotaged id's efforts to complete the work by not delivering source material.

This is not the behavior of an honest person, and quite frankly seems malicious in how he completed his work, and ultimately lied about what really happened. The guy also acts like he's the Steve Jobs of music composing if you've watched some of his videos. Huge ego.

Am I surprised? No. It's quite obvious he didn't put effort into making "real" music for Doom anyway, as the guitar only uses 2 strings and the rest is distorted sound that could have been done by your average music youtuber with a PC. The game tracks are such low quality that it wouldn't really matter if you replaced Mick with a freaking copycat fanboy who would work for peanuts.

Id is breaking up with Mick Gordon over this. Good. Hire Andrew Hulshult for any future work, because that guy puts the work in, and proves he isn't full of himself by working with indie devs. That, or any of the million youtubers who can copy Mick's style with a guitar and editing software.

IMO, Mick thought he could get away with this, especially since ID are such nice people, but there's no way the fans are ever gonna forget, and no future company will want to work with him either now that we know his work ethic, which is none. Your 15 minutes of fame are over, Mick.

...And you seem like a judgmental ♥♥♥♥. Are you unhappy?

Trent did the music for Quake he was going to do Doom 3 as well but backed out. So Tool pooped some riffs and $$$.

I like a lot of music. NIN is some of it.

Yeah, Tool didnt do the music for Doom 3. Like, zero involvement.

I am a prick, but I'm not usually this judgmental tbh. When I am, it's in response to people like you.

Yeah, Chris Vrenna ripped off Tool and $$$. So what?

You don't need to tell me you're a prick. Your childish judgment makes your petty narrow mind obvious. Were you a bit of a bully back in school?

I was more into thrash back then anyways.

A metal band could cover the best Doom 1 and 2 songs and they would be better than anything in 2016 or DE.

You look worse, a fanboy of Marty Stratton. Tell me 4 things you enjoy about him.
Anyway, you do not need to be a fanboy of id Software to be a fan of Doom franchise, you know. You could loathe id Software and love Doom all the same.

Do you really think so? Swing and a miss buddy. It's your bad judgement. It makes you wrong more often.

What bands do you like so I can judge you? Are you some kind of freaky juggalo?

ID can find better than Mick.

Tool had nothing to do with Doom 3 music. Cris Vrenna and Clint Walsh made the iconic song theme, but the actual background music was made, according to Imdb info, by some guy called "Ed Lima".

Well, a broken clock is still right twice a day. Mick is a piece of highly overrated ♥♥♥♥.

I listen to bebop Jazz and Zydeco music. Banjos forever.

Honestly we need 3 composers to appease 3 different types of music preference, then everyone would be happy. xD

I do prefer Aubrey Hodges ambient OST from Doom PSX over Chris Vrenna's Doom 3 OST though... I dunno. I just never gelled with D3's soundtrack for some reason, though I don't mind the menu theme.

The menu theme for Doom 3 literally sounds like a variation of Tool's song Lateralus to me.

I mean, I love that song but it's just the power chords and rhythm... sounds just like it.

Yea, I must admit, the song hits heavy. It made me feel like the in-gameplay soundtrack was a bit of a letdown tbh. It does have that mid-2000s metal / bandy kind of sound that I find insufferable though, but I don't feel that it suffers from this as much as other stuff.

Ironically I don't listen to any bands, though I love metal when its used in videogames. xD
Outside of that I listen to Nippon Steel weeb music like a complete degenerate.

And yeah, I personally much prefer Andrew Hulshult. Some of his works in Quake Champions gets extremely close to emulating Sascha Dikiciyan / Sonic Mayhem that its uncanny. Love his work on that game. Glad to see he's making the DLC soundtrack, I hope he uses his own style than try to copy Mick.
Naah, he's just crappy artist who knows nothing about making good music.

Someone was joking about you being a boomer -and you just confirmed it. This is already at least your third, if not the fourth comment mentioning "the good old days back then", also describing Doom 2016's OST as "dubstep". Like, where have you been in the last 12 years? On the Moon? Dubstep is things like Rusko, Excision, Datsik, Vaski, Mt. Eden, later Skrillex but he later merged it with other genres as well... Not everything is dubstep that has electronics in it and was released after 1990, you know. And most of D2016's soundtrack is closer to metal than dubstep... VEGA Central Processing is the only one which can be mistaken by musical illiterates like you for dubstep, even if it is not. You know, even your "grande olde" idols like Metallica or NIN progressed... too bad you are stuck in the 1980-1990s.
You must be one of those narrow minded people who only listen to music from a very specific closed era. Nothing before (yuck, old, outdated sh***) and nothing after (all this modern dubstep is trash), just some of the bands who were active in a 15 year old timespan.

It's the lack of depth and the fact they are boring songs. I'm not saying everything in 2016 is Dub step but Mick does use it quite a bit mixed into his boring bland ♥♥♥♥ metal. I assume to make it extra obnoxious. It's annoying and better music was made years ago. Making it more apparent.

Music has been going down hill for awhile. What is it with you pricks making so many judgments about things you couldn't know?
