Do I have to make Bethesda account just to play DOOM Eternal?

The rest of DOOM games don't have this issue, but when it comes to Eternal, I can't skip and they want me to make the account by force. With all due respect, I see this as unessercary, because I see this as "Join us or don't play our game" and sounds to me it's worse than UPlay and perhaps EA. I know some of you Bethesda fanboys are going to be mad and pounding on your keyboards, but you need to understand this purely my opinion. If my words trigger you, then ignore it.

I hate Bethesda as much as the next guy. That being said, all you need is an account. You don't need their launcher or anything like that, just a standard account that you can make in five minutes.

You can block the game via Windows Firewall and play it. As long as the game thinks it's offline, it won't ask. I did that for the first few hours cause I didn't want to sign up either.

Note that skins won't work if you do this (even just the skins you unlock in your base). If you want to look like OG Doom Guy (and who doesn't?), you'll need to sign up for an account.

block the exe in your firewall and it skips the sign-in screen.

shouldn't need that for singleplayer, this isn't some lame always online mmorpg

It's really not that big of a deal. Annoying, yes, but I'm sure you've already got a bunch of accounts for other services that you only used once. It's to keep track of XP, boosters, and crossplay between the Steam and Bethesda launcher versions. While I agree that it's probably not wholly needed (and the game being on Bethesda launcher period is another discussion entirely) it's really a very minor gripe. It takes five minutes to make an account, which is probably less time than you would spend trying to find a way around it and missing out on some of the skins, boosters, and multiplayer.

yes like always if u want to play offline in steam u need to switch steam to offline mode. its the usual way...
but why u just dont make an account and link it to steam? u even dont need to use ur real name or to give any other information and its free. in offline mode u cant use any online feature!

Did they officially state this somewhere? I feel not that many people would complain if they at least gave this explanation publicly seen easily.

Add "+com_skipSignInManager 1" (without quotes) to your launch options, and it should allow you to bypass the login entirely.
