open doometernalconfig.cfg with a text editor and just delete the bind there
bindset 0 is for singleplayer and bindset 2 for battlemode i think

Not sure if you can since to bind it there you need to use a console command.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I want to have a previous weapon button, but it shares it's function with stupid weapon select wheel, is there an option to walkaround this?

Unfortunately, no. I'd recommend binding weapons to specific keys you're comfortable with though.

its still working! there is no other file where the binds get stored. if ur bind isnt there the bind doesnt exist...
u should take a closer look maybe or use the search engine ;)

This fix does not work anymore, as the file in question simply does not contain the information for the keybinds. https://imgur.com/a/HHZ5Cwm

Unless this *isn't* the file in question or something.

For those of you that stumbled here looking for a solution: Navigate to options, select whatever action you wish to unbind, press the key that is bound to that button and boom! unbound slot.

This is the exact issue I had: Go to options, go to the weapon switch bind, click on it as if you wanted to rebind it, and then press the already bound key to remove it

Thanks, dude. That left shift key aka "walk slow as hell key" was getting on my nerves. It's not an issue in Eternal but it is in Doom 2016. At least for me.
