Low FPS in Fullscreen or Borderless Window **FIXED UPDATE**

What the hell is up with this?

I have a GTX 1070, and runnning in windowed mode on ultra nightmare i get between 45-60 fps.

If i switch to fullscreen or borderless, it caps out at 18 fps and the game chugs. What the hell is going on here and is there a fix?

I disabled steam overlay and updated drivers.

UPDATE: **

Installed the Doom nvidia update driver manually.
Restarted computer, working perfectly now.

16GB ram

i 5 3.8 ghz intel 7600k

What OS are you using?
Are you 1080p or pushing higher resolutions?

In testing on Win7 @ 1080p, the game performs best in fullscreen -- and takes FPS hits in borderless/windowed.
