I know you sound like stupid Bart Simpson discussing with Lisa, but I'm baffled that some gamers can't adapt to a simple button press and want to homogenize a finelly tuned but simple combat gameplay.
-Doomslayer with constantly respawning fodder demons, unlimited chainsaw fuel, and massive frontal lobe trauma
That is a prowler which requires 3 chainsaw bars while you only have 1.
BUT...
DOOM shouldn't have a combat loop/flow! Neither of them do! This combat flow was designed for people that can't think on their own. I'm with you on this one. Terrible design! I have my own weapon flow, not some ABC kiddie flow the developers force me to use - this is why I like DOOM 2016 better.
I've seen you post this twice now, and it's so retarded it's actually making me lose brain cells just for reading it.
DOOM shouldn't have a combat loop/flow? So... the original games from 1993/94 didn't have any combat flow in your opinion? Have you ever played, oh I don't know, literally anything other than episode 1-3 or Doom 2 on anything higher than hurt me plenty? Especially once you get to stuff like Plutonia on UV. The usage of enemies, as well as the level design forces you to specific strategies, because if you don't you'll get raped by chaingunners immediately.
Honestly, whenever I read posts like this all I'm seeing is "waaaaah, I can't be arsed to learn how to play a game, and just want to breeze through it, and if I can't do that then the game must be bad."
Also, you seem to think that you're forced into doing very specific strategies all the time, which is simply not true. There's usually several effective ways of taking out every single one of the enemies, you just have to learn to play, oh and you know... Think for yourself? ;)
