Auto switching and the BFG

There needs to be an option that you can toggle so the game does not switch you to the BFG when you run out of ammo for a weapon. Wasted more BFG shots and loaded checkpoints than I've actually used it effectively.

Come on now, I'm not retarded, I know there's an option for ALL weapons and I use that, but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating that it switches to the gun with very rare ammo no matter what gun you were using and no matter what guns you have ammo for. I want an option to exclude the BFG from auto switching.

no....your wrong a option in the menu allows you to NOT SWITCH to another weapon WHEN A WEAPON IS OUT OF AMMO...

Im using it right now because of the very problem you have ....

When my gun runs out of ammo it just stays in my hand i can click as many times as i want and nothing will happen until I MYSELF" select another gun

goto game options then scroll down to "Weapons category" then look for

"Auto-Switch Weapon Empty"

Make sure the box is not check (selected) wallah enjoy your eternal experience.

Look, i have the same issue as OP and here is the problem.
I want the auto switch to another weapon when the current weapon is out of ammo ON,
but i never want it to automatically switch to the BFG. Any other weapon is ok.
This option DOES NOT EXIST.
