Not "everyone" but more than enough to declare it a known issue.
Ohh, didnt know, my bad. I wish it worked for me so i can take screenshots easily.
Sorry, that does suck for those with the problem. Works perfectly fine on my system. An i7 6850k with 980Ti and Win 10 Pro 1909.
I run it at stable 60 at 1080 on max and my rig is all very good but my cpu is a bit outdated so thats why maybe. Pretty sure devs said theyll try to fix it in a patch tho, right, no?
Nah, it's not because your cpu is outdated. This bug hits people with brand new top of the line systems also. And yes, as far as I know they are looking into the situation, which is a good sign.
Not true. Overlays will not "always decrease" your fps. Some people have issues, not everybody. Sounds like you have several issues besides the overlay if you cannot even get GE to work.
Geforce experience overlay (screenshots, instant replay, video etc) and steam overlay (or any other overlay) won't work with Doom Eternal. And with "always decrease" I meant obviously in doom eternal, not in every game. Not everybody has issues = wrong (we are still talking about Doom Eternal and not games in general). Those who say don't, simply can't notice it, never compared with and without, or are not influenced by the decrease because maybe the overlay does not influence the framerate so much as to go below the maximum framerate rendered by the screen (if I were to play in 16:9 1080p or 1440p 60 Hz I very probably would not notice any drop with the overlay activated because at those res I would have 130+ fps, so if the overlay eats even 50 fps from those 140, would still be rock solid 60 fps at 60 Hz).
Steam overlay works perfectly for me and a lot of others also in DOOM Eternal. It doesn't cause a single frame drop. I've tested with vsync off so the hz doesn't matter.
